My B-tech year 2015

Halooo..
My name is Rona-Celia Meyer and I am doing my B-tech in Interior Design at NMMU. The year is about discovering yourself, or that is how it feels to me. Designing something you like and doing it for a year can be challenging, but if it is something you love - it will always be worth it!

I am designing an Alzheimer's home, because I am a family orientated person and love to help people. Everything about people draws me in.. I hope to design a space where Alzheimer patients can be free to explore new things and create the optimal living environment...

Here is my process throughout the year...

Conceptual Sketches...

Hand sketches are probably the best way to go and to develop your skills more... We had to hand in 5 conceptual spaces for our design today... We presented them to the class and it was actually a lot of fun! The feedback was satisfying, i need to incorporate my theory in more depth in my spaces... This is actually exciting because it pushes you to think out of the box and create your own designs...
A good thing about hand sketches is that it helps you to draw quicker and easier on the computer, because your ideas are also more finalised...
Our next five spaces are due for next Tuesday and then we will probably have an overall feel for our space...;)
