My B-tech year 2015

Halooo..
My name is Rona-Celia Meyer and I am doing my B-tech in Interior Design at NMMU. The year is about discovering yourself, or that is how it feels to me. Designing something you like and doing it for a year can be challenging, but if it is something you love - it will always be worth it!

I am designing an Alzheimer's home, because I am a family orientated person and love to help people. Everything about people draws me in.. I hope to design a space where Alzheimer patients can be free to explore new things and create the optimal living environment...

Here is my process throughout the year...

You are never too old to learn...
Alzheimer's is a growing extensive disease and no evident cure is available. People have tried a lot of different methods to help patients and one main contributor to enhance the quality of life for the patients is ART...

I'd definitely want to go into more depth regarding how art can help the patients and eventually maybe use it as my concept and inspiration...

I want to create a therapeutic Alzheimer facility...
I wanted to work with elderly people even before I started with btech...
I always want to help people, it is just part of who I am...
I love it when people interact, because everything about people invites me in...
Some inspiration for my year:)

Sooo... for my Btech year I am using a building in St. Francis Bay. The building is now known as the Local Municipality building. I think the building has a lot of potential to become something intriguing...

This is my building...
